UPS Barcode Technology Aids in Haitian Relief

The UPS Donated Barcode Scanning Equipment to the Salvation Army this past month to help Families Receive Critical Food and Supplies.

The donation has aided in relief by enabling the Salvation Army to replace old handwritten paper index cards with high-tech barcode technology.  This technology has ensured that more than 4,000 families have efficiently received food, shelter and medical supplies.

This is the second time UPS has kindly donated their technology for disaster relief. After Hurricane Katrina, the system was used for tracking displaced pets.
